Event description

Description

Rupert McNeil, Chief People Officer for the Civil Service, and John Manzoni, Chief Executive of the Civil Service & Cabinet Office Permanent Secretary invite you to a groundbreaking conference to discover, learn and celebrate ways of improving citizen outcomes through employee engagement.

We shall also be launching Outcomes Through Engagement - a signature publication containing some of the most compelling examples from across the public sector and sponsored by the CIPD. You will be the first to benefit from the insights.

The case for engagement is well founded. As public sector leaders, we need to champion this message. We lead large, increasingly complex, public organisations whose success impacts the health, wellbeing and prosperity of UK citizens and the nation. As leaders we need to pay attention to our accountabilities here.

Please join us on Wednesday 17th January 2018 at the 1, Victoria Street Conference Centre in Westminster and:

- Hear from public sector leaders and peers who have improved citizen outcomes though employee engagement

- Learn from best practice and take home practical solutions

- Network with and gather insights from leaders and thinkers within and outside the public sector

Rupert & John are sponsoring this complimentary event and kicking off proceedings with our colleagues David MacLeod & Nita Clarke from Engage for Success. Throughout the day we’ll be joined by great leaders sharing their stories of how engagement makes a difference including:

  • Amanda Pritchard, Chief Executive of Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
  • Philip Rutnam, Permanent Secretary at the Home Office
  • Andrew Foster, Chief Executive, Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust
  • Glenn Tunstall, former Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent

We will also be challenged by some thinking from outside our sector - The Right Hon., The Lord Price, author of Fairness for All: Unlocking the Power of Employee Engagement and formerly MD of Waitrose, Deputy Chair of the John Lewis Partnership and former Minister of State for Trade will be our keynote for the afternoon session.
