Improving Attention and Learning Potential for Children with ASD
A day course for teachers, support assistants, SENCos and parents
This course provides a wide range of practical ideas and strategies to support and improve learning outcomes, all based on insight into the unique learning style and challenges experienced by children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders), social communication disorders and associated difficulties.
The course is suitable for anyone working or living with a child with ASD or similar difficulties; whether new to the field or seeking to broaden their understanding and skills.
Following a short overview and introductory session, delegates will be able to attend 3 x 75 minute workshops from a choice of topics listed below:
•Self-regulation - Strategies to help children stay calm and focused
•Dyspraxia and Coordination - Tips for the classroom
•Adapting the classroom to promote attention, engagement and learning
•Literacy, Numeracy and the child with ASD
•Introduction to Social Thinking
•Developing emotional understanding and communication
The day will conclude with a short plenary session.
The cost of the day is £95 per delegate for professionals and a discounted rate of £45 for parents (please quote “parents/carers” to qualify for discount).
A sandwich buffet lunch is included.
