Event description

Description

This event in Banbury is aimed at introducing school staff and professionals who work with children, young people and families to Emotion Coaching. Developed by psychologist John Gottman, Emotion Coaching is an evidence-based approach that helps build positive mental wellbeing and resilience by supporting children and young people to become more aware of the emotions communicated through their behaviour and help them to develop strategies to manage overwhelming emotions. Gottman’s research has shown that emotion coached children achieve more academically, have greater success with making and keeping friends, have better concentration at school, are more able to calm down when upset or angry and have fewer behavioural difficulties.
