Join us for the Final conference of the Horizon2020 project "IC-Health - Improving Digital Health Literacy in Europe"!

Citizens’ digital health literacy is an essential element for successful eHealth deployment. However, citizens often do not have the necessary skills to find, understand and appraise online health information and apply their knowledge when making health decisions. Digitally health literate citizens are empowered to play a more active role in their health self-management, resulting in improved prevention, adherence to a healthier lifestyle and better health outcomes.

IC-Health is providing support for the improvement of digital health literacy in Europe. In particular, the project has successfully designed 35 open access online courses (MOOCs), in eight different national languages, for different population cohorts including children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women, older people and people affected by or susceptible to type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

After two years of work, the project consortium created 35 online courses in eight different national languages aimed at improving how citizens and patients find, understand, appraise and apply health information that they can find online. Projects such as IC-Health, come at a critical time for healthcare and self-management. Digitalisation, use of patients’ data, online misinformation and public health crises are a few of the key issues that make empowering health literate EU citizens imperative to creating sustainable health systems, ensuring public health protection, having informed and safe self-health management and using healthcare innovations fully.

The IC-Health Final Conference will see consortium partners presenting the results and work of the project and external speakers debating on the IC-Health outcomes and on the importance of health literacy and digital health literacy from different vantage points.

The conference is open to public and is free of charge. Join this fascinating dialogue about Digital Health Literacy and the IC-Health project and do not miss our IC-Health Dissemination videos, subtitled in different languages!
