We are delighted to invite you to our free IWUN project launch event at 9.30am-2.30pm on Wednesday 12th October 2016 at The Showroom Cinema in Sheffield.
The event will be introduced by Craig Lister from The Green Gym http://www.tcv.org.uk/greengym
Improving Wellbeing through Urban Nature (IWUN) is a £1.3million research project led by the University of Sheffield’s Department of Landscape. It aims to find out more about how Sheffield’s natural environment can improve the health and wellbeing of the city’s residents, and especially those with disproportionately high levels of poor health. We will use a range of methods, including a specially designed smartphone app, to investigate people’s relationships with Sheffield’s parks and green spaces.
The aim of the event on 12th October is to:
- Introduce the IWUN project
- Invite a broad range of people from the environment or health and social care sectors to get involved - we want to make sure that IWUN is as relevant and useful to Sheffield as it possibly can be
- Find out about existing green health activities in Sheffield
- Launch a discussion about how Sheffield could become a centre of excellence for green health
We attach the programme for the day and a leaflet containing more information about the IWUN project.
The event is free to attend and includes lunch, workshops and opportunities for you to talk about your own green health initiatives. Please register for a place here:
