Welcome! As you may already know, our Customer and Markets Director Nick Robinson has delivered communications skills consultancy and training courses to Corporate markets for over 20 years.

Nick is now going to pass on all this knowledge and experience to you in the form of a 3.5 hour highly intensive training course that will upskill you and give you increased confidence when approaching your employer network.

There is so much to this subject, but the training course will break it down into manageable chunks that will enable you to fully appreciate and apply the content from the course!

What are the course modules?

Module 1) Understanding the Structure of an Effective Employer Conversation

We will share the different stages of the conversation and help delegates to understand why each stage must be considered carefully to optimise the chance of a positive outcome for both parties.

Module 2) Pre-call Planning - Broken down into two key areas

What you need to understand from your employer and what you need to share with them – delegate’s input welcomed!

Module 3) Building Rapport

We will explore the key drivers for effective rapport – likeability and trustworthiness – and shares hints and tips on how to build these with your employers.

Module 4) Questioning Techniques

There is so much more to this than Open and Closed Questions and we will help you understand what the different kinds of questions are and when and how to ask them.

Module 5) Positioning your College and Overcoming Objectives

What to say and how to say it – We share the key learning points around Features and Benefits and how to ensure you talk about what is important to your employer. Overcoming 'objections' is made easy and comfortable using the right approach, which will also be discussed during this module.

Module 6) Securing Commitment

We discuss what different kinds of commitment there are in the context of employer conversations and how to build a teamworking approach as the call progresses.

About Nick

Nick’s early career was as an award-winning IT Account Manager and trainer and for over 20 years has been delivering training courses in effective conversations to the Education Sector. Nick specialises in the soft skills required to have meaningful conversations that serve the interests of both parties.
