Event description

Description

The eLearning Network returns to Glasgow again on 6th September and once again, Glasgow Clyde College Innovation Centre is the venue for our event. Our thanks to the college, and to Bolt Learning and D2L, both eLN Industry Partners, who are sponsoring the food and the drinks reception at the end of the day. Joan Keevill, Chair of the eLN, will host the event for the eLN, supported by board members Gemma Wells and Leonard Houx.

We have a great line-up of speakers this year for the morning session, followed by the ‘open space’ or ‘unconference’ approach to the afternoon, giving participants the opportunity to have more in-depth discussions with fellow attendees and with the speakers themselves.

Come and network with your fellow eLearning professionals, take time to learn, reflect and be inspired.

The speakers and their sessions are:

· Alan Hiddleston, Manager, Corporate Sales EMEA at D2L: The Future of Digital Learning Experiences

Many organisations are now realising that their historical approach to eLearning is not delivering and digital transformation of learning is the solution, but what does that look like in terms of new and different learner experiences? In this session Alan will talk about the various ways that organisations are creating meaningful digital learning experiences that are centred around specific action points (“doing”) and enabled by technology. He’ll focus on the use of feedback in a digital environment, gamification and analytics that go beyond compliance to understand how learners are learning in a digital world.

· Luke Merrick, Head of Learning at Bolt Learning: Zero Waste Learning

Making the most of budgets and employee time is becoming increasingly important, but how can you maximise the impact of what you do and cut out ‘waste’ from your learning strategy and interventions? In this interactive session, Luke Merrick will explore how to:

· Avoid wasting company time and money by maximising the impact of learning events

· Make the most of the limited time employees get to spend on professional development

· Avoid wasting valuable data that can be gained from employee effort

By leaning on research and examples from real clients, Luke will lead a practical session that will help you to identify ways of minimising waste and maximising value in your own strategies and interventions.

Ross Garner, Content Editor, and Ross Dickie, Instructional Design Manager and Podcast Host, Good Practice: Multimedia options for your budget.

Ross G and Ross D invite you to explore multimedia production that can flex to your budget. From dirt cheap to bells-and-whistles, they'll share examples of times when they've had to bow to cost constraints, then give you a chance to create some digital content through exploring:

· Animation

· Video

· Audio

You can attend this workshop for free if you are a full eLN member, or you can pay £29 (+ fee & VAT) to attend as a non-member.

Refreshments and lunch are provided!

Registration will be from 9:30, with everything kicking off at 10:00.

PLEASE NOTE: This ticket is not transferable. The member/person who purchases the ticket needs to be the person who attends the event.
