Brush up your pitching skills and prepare for our Dragon's Den event with this hands on workshop. There are two workshop elements to the day and you will be able to work on and develop your presentation in each:
- Storytelling as a tool to get your message across - This powerful tool shows you how to get over that crucial message from the very start and shows you how to make the biggest impact. Remember there's no Powerpoint allowed at the Dragons Den so this workshop will show you alternative ways to have a big impact. This session will be run by longstanding social entrepreneur Hannah McDowall who has worked with some large companies and public bodies to develop their presentation skills.
- Presentation and personal effectiveness is another key session. If you are nervous about the thought of presenting imagine what its like to be in front 2 billion people in an Olympic final - and then go on to win that Gold medal. It takes skills that extend far beyond being just good at sport. Former Olympic rower and world class coach Tim Foster MBE will run his teach you some techniques of how to turn a stressful situation to your advantage and also how to present yourself as well as your idea by focusing on your approach technique and delivery.
There will be catering provided on the day with tea & coffee on arrival and a buffet lunch with sandwiches and wraps as well as refreshments. Please inform us at least one week ahead of the event if you have any dietary requirements we need to cater for as we will not be able to provide alternative items if informed on the day.
