Establishing your emotional needs and developing your social wellbeing during the PhD is equally as important as taking care of your intellectual needs. The more robust your wellbeing is, the more likely you can manage obstacles, make better decisions, successfully complete the PhD, avoid burn out and be prepared to take your next career step.

Join us for an opportunity to develop a personal project plan that you can implement following the workshop that will support you in improving your wellbeing.

Using Design Thinking processes, we will address the challenge of: ‘how might we pursue more fruitful interactions and activities during our PhD?’ Together we will explore our emotional needs using empathy exercises, identify areas where we can make improvements to our wellbeing, generate creative solutions collaboratively, make a prototype of your project and test the best solution for you to implement immediately following the workshop.

Previous participants have said:

‘I think it will really help me improve my wellbeing as a researcher, help improve my mental health and improve my impact as a researcher.’

‘Everyone should take this workshop! Brilliant and so helpful and insightful.’

‘One of the most useful workshops I’ve ever attended.’

‘I feel confident and inspired to make changes’

This collaborative and interactive session offers opportunities to gain skills/behaviours outlined in the following Researcher Development Framework (RDF) subdomains: A3 Creativity, A2 Cognitive abilities, B1 Personal qualities, B2 Self-management, B3 Professional and career development, D1 Working with others and D2 Communication.

Registration: You are recommended to use your University of Liverpool email to register on Eventbrite and then the calendar invitation will be added to your University calendar. We reserve the right to remove registrations of attendees who do not appear to be members of this University.
