Description

Trust Fundraising

Charitable Trusts and Foundations can be an important source of income to charities. Equally, it is an area where people can feel somewhat daunted/unsure about whether they are doing the right thing

This one day intermediate course will look at how to take the next steps with your Trust Fundraising - helping attendees assess their current strategies, identify whether they are making the common mistakes of more experienced Trust fundraisers and learn new tools and techniques to enhance their fundraising abilities.

  • Content:

  • Project management issues for Trust fundraisers

  • Research: research in depth when it’s needed; impact of using inadequate research resources; using a research volunteer; using the phone

  • Gaining clarity to judgement calls: who to approach and their chance of giving

  • Writing: Tweaking applications fully for different funders; writing clearly; write more engagingly; better story-telling

  • Working well with Services and senior management

  • Problem solving when it all goes wrong on the project

  • GDPR and Trusts

  • Strategy: what to fundraise for; setting targets for projects and for the year; making the best use of your time

  • How to deal with stagnation; how to keep growing

  • Anything else participants want covered (please say when booking, we’ll try and fit it in)

Level: The course will be aimed at those with over a year's experience of Trust fundraising, who are looking to develop their strategies and techniques.

A more introductory course, looking at the basics of Trust fundraising, is taking place on the 18th April. Find out more and book your place here.

Previous attendees have described the course as:

  • "In depth, thorough, fun, friendly, inclusive, encouraging, well prepared, experienced trainers, interesting, thought provoking"

  • "Informative and inspiring"
