The Singapore Approach to Teaching Mathematics
Find out how the Singapore approach and Inspire Maths can transform Primary mathematics teaching and learning in your school
The new National Curriculum has higher expectations of pupils (and teachers) and requires learning for mastery. This workshop, led by UK experts in the Singapore approach to teaching and learning mathematics, will explore aspects of this approach that could help you to meet these increased standards whilst also creating confident and enthused learners of mathematics. Through this free afternoon workshop we will consider how to Singapore approach to mathematicsand the Inspire Maths programme:
- Develops fluency and mastery leading to deep conceptual understanding
- Uses a spiral approach to develop fluency, reasoning and problem-solving
- Utilises the ‘Singapore Bar’ model drawing method as a valuable problem-solving tool
- Embeds variation theory in effective textbook content to support pupil learning

This event is for Primary Head Teachers and Subject Leaders from schools who would like to find out more about the internationally acclaimed Singapore approach to teaching mathematics.

Owing to the popularity of these events, places are limited to one delegate per school.
Parking information: There is very limited parking. Delegates are advised that some parking can be found in surrounding roads or that the school is a 5 minute walk from Eltham station and local bus stops.
