UAL proudly presents an exclusive in-conversation event with Karla Cornwall, acclaimed Abstract Expressionistic Artist and alumna of London College of Fashion, facilitated by Kevin J. Brazant (Lounge Akademics™, Disrupt the Discourse).

Karla’s journey from institutional exclusion to international acclaim reflects the resilience and creativity at the heart of Black artistic practice. Drawing on her experiences of navigating education that often lacked cultural competence, Karla transformed adversity into artistry, leading to groundbreaking exhibitions, collaborations with global brands such as Puma, and her work featured in Netflix’s Supacell.

This event celebrates Black artistic resilience, cultural authorship, and the power of storytelling, aligned with Lounge Akademics™’ mission to amplify unscripted narratives and disrupt conventional pedagogies.Join us for an evening that honours heritage, resistance, and joy in practice.
