Join award-winning researcher, speaker and writer Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman for a talk event in the Museum, coinciding with the launch of her new book The Double Tax. Her research uncovers the everyday costs women face and focuses on exploring the economic burdens on women of colour.

Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman is a doctoral candidate at Harvard Kennedy School, studying public policy and economics. She is a fellow of the NSF, Ford Foundation, Center for Black Entrepreneurship, Roosevelt Institute, and Stone Program, and a graduate affiliate at Harvard’s Women and Public Policy Center and Institute for Quantitative Science. Her first book, The Black Agenda: Bold Solutions for a Broken System (2022), is the first trade publication to exclusively feature Black scholars and experts across economics, education, health, climate, criminal justice, and technology.

Moderated by entrepreneur, writer, and award-winning Say Your Mind podcast founder Kelechi Okafor, this intimate and explorative conversation outlines the many price tags of womanhood.

We invite attendees to join for a networking session immediately following the talk, designed to foster connection and conversation about the themes of Anna’s work.

The talk will begin at 12.30pm. Please allow time to get through airport-style security at the Museum's entrance. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the talk is scheduled to begin.

After the networking session, the event will finish at 2pm. Visitors will then be able to explore the Museum.
