About this event
Join us for a special in-conversation lunch event with Liz Draper (Director of Development - Opera North) and Diana Spiegelberg (Deputy Director - Somerset House) who will share the highs and lows of their careers to date.
Liz Draper has recently joined Opera North as Director of Development. She began her career in corporate events before moving into fundraising. In her most recent role as Head of Corporate Partnerships at Coventry UK City of Culture 2021, she led on income generation and relationship management for more than 150 corporate partnerships. She has previously worked for Hull UK City of Culture in 2017, and has consulted for a range of charities in the arts and culture sector.
Diana Spiegelberg is Deputy Director at Somerset House, which is home to cultural innovators, connecting creativity and the arts with wider society. Somerset House is home to the UK’s largest creative community of artists, makers and creative enterprises and welcomes 3 million visitors annually. Diana’s areas of responsibility include Development. Previously Diana was Director of The Kensington & Chelsea Foundation, a community foundation bridging the gap between people living and working locally and charities and community groups through philanthropy, corporate engagement and volunteering. This followed over a decade at live music producers Serious, where highlights included the annual London Jazz Festival, large scale international collaborations and a major programme of work as part of the Cultural Olympiad for London 2012.
We’re delighted to be joined by Liz and Diana to hear of their experiences so far working in fundraising and how both came to their roles. The perfect discussion for those looking for inspiration in their own career journey and wondering how you might be able to carve out a role for yourself in the future- this is for you. We hope you’ll join us!
