About this Event

As part of our Lockdown Live Lounge programme for 2020, we are delighted to introduce the ‘In Conversation with…’ series in which the University’s own Nicola Cameron sits down with a new guest each week to chat to them about their life and career, starting from their time at university through to the current day and everything in between.

We kick off the series on the 28th of October with Mark Logan.

Mark has over 25 years of leadership experience in the internet technology sector. He was instrumental in the success of multiple start-ups, including as COO of Skyscanner, one of Europe's most successful technology companies, where he was responsible for the general management of the business. In 2014, the Institute of Directors named him Director of the Year and in 2016 he won the UK Digital Masters award for Excellence in General Management. In 2019, he was conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science by the University of Glasgow.

Since leaving Skyscanner, Mark’s focus has been as a start-up/scale-up advisor, investor and non-executive director in start-ups across the sector in Scotland and internationally. He is a Professor at the University of Glasgow’s School of Computing Science, teaching start-up growth engineering to final year students, and an advisor to the Scottish Government on technology policy.

We would be delighted to hear from you if you have any questions for Mark. Please email ecs-communications@glasgow.ac.uk before 3pm on Tuesday, 27 October 2020 and we will do our best to include as many as possible.
