About this event

Join us as we welcome author Nancy Revell back to The Word to discuss her career as a novelist, writing in different genres, and her life as a tabloid journalist.

Nancy’s 12 book series The Shipyard Girls series which centres around an eclectic group of women working in the shipyards during the Second World War, was hugely successful, reaching the number 2 spot in the Sunday Times bestsellers list.

The follow-on series The Cuthford Manor trilogy is now following in its footsteps. The first two books A Widow’s Choice and A Secret in the Family are out now and the third A Daughter’s Love will be published by Penguin in January 2026.

Nancy Revell is the pen name for Amanda Revell Walton, a former tabloid journalist who worked for all the national media, providing them with hard-hitting news stories and in-depth investigations.

Amanda is presently working on the first book in a crime series, (working title) HACKS, which is based loosely on her time as reporter for a national news agency.

Tickets £3 per person (plus booking fee). Suitable for ages 16+
