In 1890, Salvation Army founder William Booth wrote "In Darkest England and the Way Out", an ambitious scheme to lift people out of poverty. 126 years later, the streets of our city are still the sleeping place of many.
At the "rough sleeping campaign night", Ilford Salvation Army will be:
- Releasing the Redbridge Cold Weather Centre Annual Report and launching the nightshelter volunteer recruitment drive for winter 2016/17
- Celebrating the cross-party Councillors who are sponsoring the new Redbridge Rough Sleeping Protocol
- Launching an exciting new initiative in partnership with RAMFEL called "Project Malachi"
There will be food, music, and testimony from past volunteers and shelter guests!
