Vweta Chadwick was a registered Social Worker with Social Care Wales. She dedicated the last 16 years of her life towards finding solutions to some of the most pertinent problems confronting women and girls in Africa, through Project ASHA.

ASHA is a girl's name of Swahili, Hindi, Sanskrit origin meaning "hope; life". That is why projectasha.org is an initiative dedicated to “Inspiring Hope & Transforming Lives.” If what you do inspires hope in others and transform their lives for the better, then you are ASHA (life and hope) to those you affect. Hence the hashtag #IAMASHA.

Vweta was born on the 1st day of 1988, in Benin City, Nigeria. Below is a brief biography of Vweta published on TIME.

Vweta was the founder of Projectasha.org which currently, has a presence in six states in Nigeria and Ambassadors in 6 Countries within and outside Africa. In recognition of Vweta's work with women, girls and disabled people through Projectasha.Org; Vweta became:

 A 2013 Fellow of the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative (CYFI), US Consulate Initiative in Nigeria. In 2014, the elected Secretary-General of the CYFI Alumni Association and later its Acting President.

 In 2013, one of 31 women selected globally for the Voices of Our Future citizen journalism training program.

 A 2013 LEAP Africa Social Innovators Program Award Recipient and Fellow.

 Since 2013, a Facilitator, for Amnesty International.

 A 2015 United States Institute of Peace Generation Change Fellow.

 In 2015, one of 24 women selected globally for the Global Change Leaders Fellowship Programme at the Coady International Institute, Canada.

 An Influencer for Mogul Inc and served alongside advisors & members such as Chelsea Clinton, Katie Couric, Rebecca Minkoff, the 1st female Mayor of Paris, Kelly Osbourne & Margaret Cho. Mogul is an award-winning technology platform for women around the world, which has impacted over 146,000,000 people across 195 countries & 30,470 cities. Mogul reaches 18.6 million women per week.

 An Ambassador for World Pulse - an online digital platform - promoting women’s voices globally. World Pulse has over 25,000 members in over 196 countries.

 A 2016 Fellow of Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders; investiture by President Barack Obama in June 2016.

 A 2016 Fellow Cohort Graduate, Civic Leadership Stream, University of Delaware, USA.

 iN 2017, the Facilitator of “Newport Rising”, a UK initiative of Projectasha.Org, offering anonymous telephone and online support for survivors of abuse and their children.

 In 2019 till her passing in July 2020, a Social worker with Cardiff Council and received commendations for her dedication to the children and young people she worked with.

There is more to Vweta; she has left us with unfinished work which we must pick up and continue with.
