ABOUT THE DESIGNER:
Jean Louie Castillo isn’t just a brand—it’s a new villain era loading for those who crave a twist of the macabre with their couture, Castillo offers up more than just fabric—he’s offering an experience, one that embraces the shadows, the power of the unknown, and a healthy dose of the grotesque.
Inspired by the eerie, ivy-clad tombstones of Highgate Cemetery and the unsettling atmosphere of classic horror, Castillo’s pieces are the sartorial equivalent of an American Horror Story episode mixed with the spectral elegance of Nosferatu. The vibe? Think Tim Burton meets Dracula’s most fashionable descendants—where a simple dress becomes a costume for the dark soul inside us all.
With a colour palette that feels pulled from the pages of a gothic novel—shades of grey, black, and charcoal dominate, creating the illusion of mourning cloths draped over something once cherished. But it’s not just the colours that send shivers down your spine. Flowing, ghostly silhouettes drift like apparitions, their weighty heaviness mirroring the sorrow of an undead love affair that lingers just beyond the grave. Then, sharp, structured elements burst through like jagged teeth, embodying that unspoken tension from American Horror Story’s most chilling moments, giving us a look that feels both regal and ready to terrorize.
