Event description

Description

This three-hour workshop supports clubs to put child protection policies into practice.

It is most suitable for those in the role of club Safeguarding Officer but is also relevant for those responsible for managing or organising the club.

The course aims to:

  • provide participants with core knowledge and the opportunity to develop skills in fulfilling their role as club safeguarding officer
  • help clubs implement practices and procedures to keep children and young people safe.

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • describe the role of the safeguarding officer and the relationship with key personnel in child protection.
  • identify and plan action required by the club to protect children and young people.

On completion, attendees will receive a certificate. Participants attending this workshop must first have completed a basic awareness course in child protection such as the Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport training or equivalent.

Please note, golf clubs will be given priority for this workshop if demand is high.
