In the Best Interests of the Children; Exploring Parental Alienation and Es...
Event Information
Description
Parental alienation is the process, and the result, of psychological manipulation of a child into showing unwarranted fear, disrespect or hostility towards a parent and/or other family members. It is a distinctive form of psychological abuse and family violence, towards both the child and the rejected family members, that occurs almost exclusively in association with family separation or divorce, particularly where legal action is involved.
This event is a timely offering as Parental Alienation has recently been included in the ICD-11 published by the World Health Organization.
A family law solicitor will offer his perspective on family law and will answer questions by fathers affected by Parental Alienation.
The aim of this event is to raise awareness and address the knowledge gap about parental alienation, to build an understanding of the experience of children and their families affected by this issue.
