Event description

Description

Explore the Blackdown Hills fields, lanes and buildings which feature in the paintings of Camden Town artists created during the 1910s and 1920s. Local naturalist, Gavin Saunders, will lead a walk through the valley around Applehayes and Ringdown in Clayhidon to look for echoes of the artists’ work.

This walk complements A Fragile Beauty: Art on the Blackdown Hills 1909 to 1925, at The Museum of Somerset.

Free. Suggested donation to Blackdown Hills Countryside Fund £5 per person.

Directions to the meeting point will be sent out prior to the event.

An identical walk is being held on Saturday 17 June - click here for details.
