Event description

Description

What really works to tackle racism in the workplace, and how can we be sure our approaches are effective?

This event brings together expertise and learning from a number of recent projects focussed on designing, delivering and evaluating anti-prejudice interventions to explore these questions.

Between 2016 and 2018, CRER worked with partner organisations from Iceland, Romania and Germany on the Erasmus+ funded INAR project. The project's aim was to promote better approaches to anti-racism training in the workplace, and particularly to support trainers to reach 'resistant learners' - people who don't want to engage with the equality agenda.

CRER's role in the INAR project links closely to other work undertaken for the Equality and Human Rights Commission and for Scottish Government, all aimed at encouraging better understanding of what works to challenge racism.

The event programme includes:

  • "I'm not a racist, but...": The INAR project - InterCultural Iceland and CRER

  • Commissioning effective anti-racist training

  • What works? Eight principles for evaluating anti-prejudice work
