This is an introductory course to Incident Response and Business Continuity. It is designed for both non-technical managers, as well as IT/ICT managers with little or no prior experience in IR planning. The course is focused on IT/Cyber incidents and how an organisation can prepare and deal with them.
The course will cover the following topics

- Examples of major and minro incidents
- The need for changes in organisational culture
- The need for a holistic approach. IR is not just for the IT crowd!
- Management involvment in all steps of planning

- IRP Implementation during/after an incident

This is a presentation based event that will include some practical exercises but non technical.

PRESENTER: The presenter for this event is Adrian Smales, MBA, a research fellow at Edinburgh Napier University and an Associate at The Cyber Academy. He has served as Head of ICT at the Natural History Museum and he is doing a PhD in Health Informatics.
