Description

University of Worcester College of Fellows' Annual Lecture: Inclusion for Innovation

by Lord Holmes of Richmond MBE

Thursday 1 February 2018, 5.15 for 5.30pm, University of Worcester, Yelland Lecture Theatre, St John’s Campus, WR2 6AJ

One of Britain’s greatest Paralympians, Lord Holmes of Richmond MBE, will deliver a fascinating talk exploring inclusion in sport.

Lord Holmes is Britain’s most successful Paralympic swimmer, having amassed an impressive 9 golds, 5 silvers, and 1 bronze medal across four Paralympic Games, including a record haul of 6 golds at the 1992 games in Barcelona.

Out of the pool, Lord Holmes enjoyed a successful career first as a journalist and latterly as a lawyer before taking up a position as Director of Paralympic Integration with the organising committee for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Lord Holmes has long promoted the view that diversity holds the key to creativity and productivity, and in his lecture he will explore questions of inclusion and the commitment he shares with the University of Worcester to work towards a more integrated, diverse, and high achieving society.

The lecture will be followed by a reception in the Cotswold Suite, Edward Elgar Building, to which you are also warmly invited.
