Inclusive Communication Essex Sharing Day 2019

Description
Our annual Sharing Day is all about communication. Professionals from a range of fields come together with parents and carers to share ideas, stories and experiences with the aim of improving someone's life.
This year, a variety of activities, including virtual dementia tour and the virtual autism bus, will offer guests the opportunity to see, hear, feel and learn.
Andrew Whitehouse, an SEN consultant, will give a talk on inclusion of learners with ADHD, autism, Asperger Syndrome and Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome.
Tobin Broadbent and Henrietta Ireland from Cued Speech UK will also give a talk to introduce cued speech and how it can support effective communication.
There will also be tabletop workshops to find out more about social stories, Makaton, TACPAC along with practical applications at home for Alexa.
The ICE team will be available throughout the day to demonstrate the resources, give advice and share success stories.
There will also be a variety of stand where you will be able to experience some of the latest innovation in Assistive and Augmentative Communication (AAC) aids.
The Sharing Day is Free to attend, but we do ask you to book your place.
If you can no longer attend please cancel your booking as soon as possible, and not later than 8th March. Professionals failing to cancel their booking will incur a £75 non-attendance charge.
