About this event
We are joined by Inclusion & Belonging Specialist and Keynote Speaker, Joanne Lockwood. An experienced professional conference speaker and panellist, Jo’s core topics include Conscious Inclusion, Imposter Syndrome, Inclusive Leadership, and Transgender inclusion and awareness.
We recognise that in our business it is our leaders that have the most impact on the culture of the organisation. By ensuring we develop and nurture inclusive habits and behaviours in our leaders we can ensure that our people feel that sense of belonging and are able to thrive and perform at their best.
It is an old cliché to say “People don’t leave bad jobs, they leave bad bosses’, and this has never been truer, it happens all of the time. If organisations do not invest in developing their leadership, at all levels, then it is hardly surprising that poor workplace cultures are able to exist.
In this session Joanne will:
Explore the key attributes of a Consciously Inclusive Leader, and how these skills can bring people together and build a positive workplace culture.
Look at the effects of Unconscious Biases and Language that leaders need to be aware of in the Recruitment, Development and Retention of their staff. Biases and poor choice of language can cause people to feel excluded, discriminated or feeling that they are being treated unfairly.
Key Take Away
The importance of an EDI vision that is effectively communicated and owned by the leadership tier.
How through Inclusive Leadership organisations can build a positive culture.
Understand the key attributes of an inclusive leader that should be nurtured and exemplified.
Recognise the biases that can occur in the employee lifecycle of Recruitment, Development and Retention and how leaders can ensure they are being fair and create equitable outcomes for all.
