Inclusive Music in Schools with OpenUp - Open School Orchestras
This training will look at how innovative musical engagement can support School Music Education Plans.
The focus of these sessions:
Progression/innovation and new ways of working
Raising aspiration for Special educational needs and disabilities students in school.
Open School Orchestras is a growing national movement led by OpenUp Music and delivered in partnership with Music Education Hubs, arts organisations and schools - providing young disabled people (aged 11-25) with opportunities to play in school ensembles and to perform. They include everything needed to establish and maintain an inclusive youth orchestra in your school - adapted musical repertoire, schemes of work and a new generation of accessible musical instruments. This training will talk about the history and future of this innovative programme, and how your school can get involved in the future.
