Event description

Description

We are delighted to be able to offer an afternoon of ‘Inclusive Policy Training for Schools’ hosted by former Ofsted HMI, Janet Palmer.

Effective Policies are at the very core of best practise within our schools. Ensuring that policies are inclusive is vital if we are to be effective at making sure the needs of all our pupils and young people are being met. During this half day event, you will learn about creating and implementing policies that best support your LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) pupils, on your way to eradicating homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) bullying in your school. You will also receive a copy of best practise inclusive policy documents.

This event is suitable for primary, secondary and SEND schools. Arrival is from 12.30 with a 1pm start.

Janet was an Ofsted HMI for 11 years and the national lead for PSHE and citizenship. She has worked as a teacher, adviser and trainer in the social sciences, PSHE and citizenship. She advised the DfES on the standards for the Certification of PSHE Teaching and the development of teacher training programmes for citizenship education. Within Ofsted, Janet has led on safeguarding, SMSC and LGBT equalities aspects of inspection frameworks.
