Description

The University of Birmingham and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) have joined forces to create an informative, half-day workshop for businesses seeking advanced solutions to a range of analysis, measurement and prototyping related challenges.

Particularly aimed at manufacturing SMEs, the workshop will:

  • Inform delegates of the pre-funded support available via the University of Birmingham’s CIAMM project (part-funded by ERDF) and NPL’s Innovate UK funded Analysis for Innovators (A4I) programme. Both provide access to cutting-edge R&D, expertise and facilities to help address the aforementioned challenges and much more.

  • Provide updates on the University of Birmingham’s pioneering and investigative research in sensors and metrology (including lasers), which have given rise to the development of quantum sensors that can help achieve enhanced accuracy and precision in measurement.

  • Provide the latest thinking on additive manufacturing and 3D printing as key capabilities for inspiring new product development, improving processes and creating competitive advantage.

  • Create an environment for peer-to-peer discussions and networking, to enable best practice sharing and the identification of future collaborative opportunities.
