Increasing competitive advantage through knowledge transfer partnerships (KTPs)

Does your business need new knowledge to grow? If so, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships could be for you.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is a UK-wide programme enabling businesses to improve their competitiveness, productivity and performance. A KTP achieves this through the forming of a partnership between your business and an academic institution (such as university, further education college or research and technology organisation), enabling you to access skills and expertise to help your business develop.

This webinar will give an overview of the KTP scheme, highlight some of the benefits for those taking part and profile recent changes to the scheme.   Victrex will present a case study to share their experience of using a knowledge transfer partnership to bring new knowledge into their business and illustrate how the partnerships work in practice.  The talks will be followed by a question and answer session.

Speakers:

KTP - What it is and how it works: Fiona Nightingale, KTP Adviser for Manchester and North Cheshire and North West Coordinator

After a 15 year career as an engineer in the nuclear industry, Fiona joined KTP as an Adviser in 1995 and heads up the team of Advisers for the Northwest of England. She also sits on the UK panel that reviews all KTP applications. She has worked with several hundred partnerships and has a broad range of experience of projects from many sectors and disciplines. She can advise on eligibility and what it takes to achieve a successful partnership.

Adam Chaplin, New Polymers Team Leader, Victrex Polymer Solutions.

With several years research experience of High Performance Polymers and Composites, Adam joined Victrex in 2000. He now leads the New Polymers team and is responsible for the development and scale up of novel High Temperature performance resins for use in a variety of demanding applications.
