Agenda:

10:00 Introductions: Felix Ashwood, Microsoft, Scott Jenkins, cloudThing

Felix Ashwood, Territory Channel Manager at Microsoft will be introducing the event and discussing Microsoft's insight into the Housing Sector.

10:15 IT Strategy in Housing Associations: Mike Eckersley, cloudThing

Mike Eckersley has over 12 years’ experience working in the housing sector, either as a Head of IT within a Housing Association or working as a strategy consultant to Housing. Mike discusses his view on the sector, including how to bring about change quickly through the adoption of new processes as well as technologies. By challenging the status quo, failing fast and working Agile, Housing Associations can build towards a larger vision of transformation through incremental improvements to services.

11:15 Dynamics 365 as a Housing Management Service: Fran Thomas, cloudThing

Fran Thomas is a co-founder and technical director at cloudThing; he’s been an industry leading Solutions Architect for over a decade. Having designed industry leading solutions for public and private sectors such as Police Service, Education, Council and complex Financial sector solutions, Fran excels at seeing the bigger picture, and using technology to solve real world problems. During this live demo, Fran will showcase how Dynamics 365 can be used to manage everyday housing tasks such as maintenance and repairs, responding to tenant queries and more. He will also demonstrate how Dynamics can work as a modular solution, minimising risks of service interruption as it integrates with existing Housing Management Solutions.

12:15 Lunch

13:00 AI and Automation within Azure: Ed Yau, cloudThing

Ed Yau is a Solutions Architect at cloudThing who has spoken about the benefits of AI and Machine Learning in the real world at numerous developer events, podcasts and with cloudThing customers. He has also designed various solutions for multiple Housing Associations over the course of his career. In this session, Ed will aim to cut through the hype around AI and Machine Learning and show how these complicated concepts can be applied to real world challenges within the housing sector. He will discuss how to turn existing historic data into actionable insights in areas such as asset management and repairs. Ed will also showcase some typical scenarios in Housing where Machine Learning solutions built on Azure can make a real impact, using anonymised data in real time.

14:00 Social Contact Centre Automation: Fran Thomas, Scott Jenkins cloudThing

There have been discussions about omni-channel communications within the housing sector, including challenges, benefits and best practice since as early as 2013. While many providers will agree that the more channels to communicate with customers the better, social media is used primarily as a tool to share news with tenants and not much more. Through cloudThing’s solution, Social Media and other channels can be integrated with the contact centre and field service tools to appropriately triage, respond to and action any concerns raised by a tenant. This can be used for simple repair bookings, and following up on Universal Credit payments.
