Independents Group Workshop: Returning to first principles
Event Information
About this Event
The session, held online, will begin at 09:30 for “coffee and catch up” and will then run from 10:00 to 11:30.
Returning to First Principles
In the light of the past and current challenges we are all facing, we thought it might be useful to explore some of the fundamentals for our businesses and for ourselves.
It is so important to consider not only what we do, but also why we do it and what impact does any of it have.
So at our next session together, we will be joined by George Smalling, an independent consultant with many years experience of working with senior leaders in a variety of settings.
George’s style will help us to focus our attention and effort on what we consider to be important. We will explore some of the following questions:
• What is the role of L&D/OD in light of COVID 19?
• What do we need to do to connect/re-connect with our customers?
• How can we maintain our integrity and still get paid?
• Are we in the business of learning of development or are we a learning and development business?
• Is our business a product or are we our business?
• Depending on the answer to the above – What do we need to do to be of value to our customers and to ourselves?
