About this Event

Londoners invited to an “Indian Summer sumptuous supper” celebration of food, community and tackling waste in Vauxhall

Brixton People’s Kitchen are inviting people to enjoy a three-course vegan, Indian-inspired supper sourced from food surplus for only £28! The event has been organised together with ‘Incredible Edible Lambeth’ as part of this year’s Urban Food Fortnight which celebrates the food being grown, made, cooked and saved on our doorstep.

**MENU**

The meal will feature a starter of Pakora and Rainbow salad, a main of Brown Dal with Dill, South Indian Thoran, and a Coconut Curry and will finish off with a Spiced Cardamom Chocolate Mousse, alongside a Tumeric Lassi. Alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase on the night. All proceeds will go to the running of Brixton People’s Kitchen and everyone will receive a free recipe card with the Tumeric Lassi to take home!

**ABOUT BRIXTON PEOPLE'S KITCHEN**

Brixton People’s Kitchen works in partnership with the local community as co-collaborators in food events. We draw inspiration from the diversity of South London and build on the expertise of our volunteers, and their own cuisines and culinary skills. We inspire people through hands-on cooking sessions that encourage people to think about creative ways they can reduce food waste, save money and eat better.

The café proceeds support the running of our charity, Be Enriched, and the community canteens. These serve free meals to individuals and families in South London who are unable to do so themselves due to health or poverty or social exclusion.

Urban Food Fortnight which is coordinated by London Food Link, a network of good food enterprises in London, highlights the hidden delights of London’s food scene, giving its residents the chance to eat ultra-local food, while celebrating the people producing it.
