About this event

The Scottish Psychedelic Research Group , http://sprg.org/ invite you, the community of practitioners, activists and healers to this event, joint hosted with the Thank you Plant Medicine movement http://thankyouplantmedicine.com/and Recovering Justice https://www.recoveringjustice.org.uk/

This will be a day to celebrate our own experiences with the healing potential of indigenous , and other plant medicines .

This is a unique opportunity for our indigenous healing community to come together and celebrate in a safe and held space (current laws create an environment where we may feel marginalised, stigmatised and criminalised; we hope to create a space where vulnerability is accepted and shared).

This is part of a 3 day Celebration of Scotland's Indigenous Apothecary (see further: http://sprg.org/index.php/indigenous-apothecary/).

Outline

1.00pm until 2pm - Buffet lunch, introduction and selected speakers

2.00pm until 4.00pm – Facilitated storytelling in small groups of approximately 8-10. All conversations will be governed by Chatham House Rules and require confidentiality and non-disclosure of others’ stories. This will be a place for everyone to share their personal story, so please be prepared to do this in your own way.

4.00pm until 5.00pm - Break to integrate your experience of the day and get to know each other. Locally sourced vegetarian/ vegan food will be provided.

Tickets cost £5 in order to invite commitment. We will offer reimbursement on the door to those who wish/need it, and money left over will go to fund payment for patient speakers at future events.Tickets are limited to 60 places so please book early and if you cannot attend let the organiser know as soon as possible.

Venue: The event will take place in the West End of Princess Street in Edinburgh, but because this is a limited ticket event we have not published the venue, and will email attendees closer to the time.

Considerations – to allow for free and open dialogue this is an event for people who feel safe and willing to talk about their own experiences. We will have other opportunities over the following two days for observers. This event is interactive so please don’t come if you are not willing or able to share your story. All conversations will be governed by the principles of 'respectiful dialogue' (see: https://www.sdpc.org.uk/commitment-to-respectful-dialogue/) and Chatham House Rules (see: https://www.chathamhouse.org/about-us/chatham-house-rule).
