About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Ecotherapy is sometimes referred to as ‘outdoor therapy’, but what happens when we can’t go outdoors? There are many reasons why we might need to bring ecotherapy practises indoors, such as disability, extreme weather conditions or certain mental health conditions.

A deep connection to the environment depends largely upon our state of mind. Even for those of us who can go outside freely, our ecotherapy activities (or that of our clients) do not have to stop when we are inside our homes.

This two-hour workshop will explore the following:

How can we build indoor habits and interests that support our nature-connection?

How can we (respectfully) bring nature inside with us?

When is it desirable to rely on indoor ecotherapy, and when might it become a distraction from going outside?

Do nature-based visualisations or nature-inspired artistic work count as ecotherapy?

When can technology help us to connect, rather than distract us from life?

Is ‘being outdoors’ always the preference?

It promises to be an interesting and lively session!

CPD Event: This event counts as Continuing Professional Development for counsellors, therapists and others in helping professions. We are happy to issue CPD certificates once you have attended the workshop. Simply message us through Eventbrite after the workshop/series is over and we will email your certificate.

Although this event is part of the Ten Directions training course for ecotherapy practitioners, anybody can book and take part in this public online event! If you are interested, please do buy a ticket.

Please note that at Tariki Trust, we generally do not record our online events. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds to people who do not show up assuming that they will get a recording.
