7th of October 2021

INDU-ZERO is a project co-funded by the Interreg North Sea Region (NSR) Programme. Led by the Province of Overijssel in the Netherlands,14 organizations from 6 countries bundled their knowledge to design a Blueprint for a Smart Factory that can manufacture Net Zero renovation packages for terraced houses and apartment buildings built between 1950 and 1985.

Huge challenges

Europe is facing huge challenges to achieve the targets of the Paris Agreement and the Green Deal. One of these challenges is to renovate 22 million existing houses in the NSR Region towards energy neutral. The current pace of renovations is too low and the costs are too high.

Blueprint for a Smart Factory

INDU-ZERO is offering a solution to this problem by delivering a Blueprint for a Smart Factory that can be built after the project. The factories will be able to produce 15,000 renovation packages a year for half of the current price. The Blueprint contains necessary information about the Smart Factory and how to produce the renovation packages. A business case is also included to stimulate the market uptake.

Program

The results of the project will be presented by the project group. During the event politicians, industry, housing corporations and investors will have a role. The event consists of an online morning program (9.15-11.30 hrs. CET) and a live/hybrid afternoon program at the Provinciehuis in Zwolle, the Netherlands (13.00-17.30 hrs. CET). Chairman of the day is the Dutch presenter, speaker and interviewer Harm Edens.
