Project Overview

Intelligent Navel 4.0 is an Interreg funded research project with partners across multiple European countries. The project aims to assess the current state of the maritime sector in terms of Industry 4.0 and provide guidance for the implementation of technologies and skills.

The Event

The purpose of this event is to bring together companies working in the maritime sector as well as technology providers at the cutting edge of new and innovative solutions. The day will set out to explore the challenges currently faced within the marine industry and will provide the opportunity to share key factors influencing decisions associated with Industry 4.0.

HSSMI is a not for profit research and innovation institute which aims to help the UK manufacturing industry adopt new technologies and processes in a sustainable way. HSSMI has offices in London, Midlands and Glasgow with extensive contacts and knowledge within the automotive industry.

This is the story of the new Ferguson Marine and how a not-fit-for-purpose facility was transformed into one of the world’s most advanced shipyards, which - amongst other exciting things - is now vying to be the first shipyard in the world to launch a planet-saving, sea-going, zero-emissions, Hydrogen car and passenger ferry.
