What does the ideal cinema or festival look like? In this session being held as part of the 2024 Oska Bright Film Festival we share our roadmap to the perfect cinema for learning disabled audeiences.

Join us to explore how to practically develop your cinema’s programming for learning disabled and autistic audiences and prepare the best possible welcome.

Learning disabled and autistic cinema enthusiasts will share what they love (and don’t love) about going to the cinema, and discuss what the cinemas of tomorrow could look like.

Venues with first-hand experience of enhancing their welcomes will talk about their work to engage meaningfully with these audiences. There will also be examples of lasting change which has resulted from bringing diverse voices into film exhibition.

Welcome Back is a learning disability-focused network of cinema exhibitors led by Oska Bright Film Festival. The network includes cinema exhibitors from all over the UK, who support one another to develop their welcome and programmes with learning disabled people in mind.
