Infant Feeding Workshop, Ashford and St Peter's Hospital
An interactive and informative workshop to help parents explore and achieve their feeding goals. Ideal from 34 weeks pre-6 weeks post birth
About this event
Our educational and interactive infant feeding workshop is run face to face by our Infant Feeding Team. Practical tips on collecting colostrum antenatally, establishing responsive feeding, bonding and building your baby's brain are discussed. Couples are encouraged to interact and build peer support networks. Come along once your baby is born to learn about positioning, attachment and recognising effective milk transfer. The session runs alongside an informal feeding support group which runs from 12-3pm offering antenatal expressing support from 36 weeks and postnatal feeding support plus the opportunity to meet other parents over a cup of tea.
Birth partners are encouraged to attend both antenatally and postnatally when possible and parents can attend as many sessions as they would like. If couples would rather join via weblink please email the infant feeding team on asp-tr.infant-feeding@nhs.net.
