Please note that in order to qualify for the funding, you will need to be working for an Adult Social Care Provider. If the aforementioned does not apply to you, you will still be able to register for the course, but will likely not be eligible for the funding.
The course will be delivered online via the Zoom platform.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Identify standard precautions and explain common terms/definitions
- Describe the cause and transmission of infection
- Explain legislation in the prevention and control of infections
- Identify local policies and systems in place in the prevention and control of infections
- Describe the roles and responsibilities in the prevention and control of infections
- Explain the importance of good personal hygiene including hand washing techniques
- Identify the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Describe how to maintain a clean environment in the prevention and control of infections
- Describe the principles of decontamination and waste management
