Summary:

Whatever you do and whatever your level, relationships matter for your effectiveness, reputation and success. This is critical for leaders who constantly need to influence others, especially where there may be no authority, and to work collaboratively to form productive relationships that enable all involved to reach mutually beneficial solutions.

Advanced influencing skills are vital for all workforce professionals in today’s health and social care systems. HPMA London are pleased to offer this half day workshop for senior workforce professionals to support you to communicate, influence and lead more effectively.

We assume you have a basic understanding of communication and influencing. The facilitator will build your awareness of self and of other and provide you with practical tried and tested tools that you can take away and use immediately.

Aim:

To equip you with influencing skills and tools to help you to understand the most critical aspects of managing your relationships at work, including communication, engagement and trust.

Objectives:

  • Increase the impact you have, build trust quickly and create the right impression
  • Gain greater awareness of your own influencing style
  • Build strategies to adapt style to match others
  • Manage your own and other emotional responses
  • Learn effective influencing behaviours and tools
  • Learn to bring honesty, integrity and authenticity to your relationships
  • Analyse how trust and perception of control affects your relationship and outcomes

Outcome:

By the end of this workshop delegate will have learned:

  • Have greater resilience and confidence when leading
  • Be able to recognise and adapt influencing styles
  • Utilise skills and tools to enhance your influencing

Facilitator:

Nicole Eisele, Director of Eisele Consulting, holds qualifications in psychology, mediation, coaching and law and currently teaches the psychology of conflict, restorative Justice and negotiation on a Master's programme at the University of Westminster in addition to running her own mediation, coaching and training consultancy. Nicole believes in the power of working with teams and individuals as they increase awareness and understanding of the organisational systems they work in. She works to ensure that clients have enough clarity to create dialogue and debate to engage others in collaborative work. Nicole is passionate about the results that can be achieved through good quality conversations.

The session will address Relationship Builder at level 3&4 from our HR Competency Framework.

In the event that you’re not able to attend, please let us know no less then 5 working days of the event or we will charge a £100 cancellation fee regardless of the reason given for cancellation or non-attendance. We know that there are many good reasons why people are not able to attend HPMA London events they have booked on, however the cost per attendee at an HPMA London Academy can be as much as £200. We use the income generated by cancellation fees to deliver our events programme in the next financial year. If you want to appeal against a cancellation fee, please contact the team for a copy of the cancellation fee appeal form which will need to be signed by your line manager and returned within 14 days of the event.

There are 35 places on this event. We want to ensure that all member organisations have access to our events. If an event is overbooked and the maximum attendance has been reached from a particular trust, the events team may need to cancel any further places that are booked. The team will then email individuals who have booked after the maximum number has been reached.
