This course gives attendees an overview of information law considerations for civil servants and to ensure data protection and Freedom of Information Act compliance. We’ll cover:
· What are DATA PROTECTION and FOI and why do they matter
· Who are the KEY PLAYERS in the GDPR regime
· ENSURING COMPLIANCE with data protection law – and DEMONSTRATING it
· What does FAIR AND LAWFUL data processing require
· When is a PRIVACY NOTICE needed
· What information is SUBJECT TO FOI
· How do I RECOGNISE an FOI request and WHAT MUST I DO when I get one
· Do I have to DISCLOSE all information requested
· How does data protection and FOI OVERLAP
