Event Details

This UK Parliament Week, the UK Parliament Education and Engagement Service are hosting a series of Jubilee Room talks, FREE for anyone who wants to find out more about how the UK Parliament works, and how to get involved.

Companies are handling and processing your personal data every day. Every click you make on the internet translates to the analysis of your data. After 25th May 2018, talk about GDPR quietened down, but the work behind the scenes did not! As people have become more aware of their rights, the number of subject access requests has increased. The aim of the first part of this talk is to show you how we process and look after your data to keep Parliament running.

Parliament is always under a great deal of scrutiny. The second part of our talk will look at what Freedom of Information means in a Parliamentary context and delve into some of our most interesting requests.

Finally, we will discuss what this means for Members. We’ll highlight the difference between the House administration and Members in the context of Data Protection.

There are limited places at this event and places are available on a first come first served basis. If a waiting list is formed then this will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, places are non-transferable.
