Information Studies at University of Glasgow Networking Event
Event Information
Description
We invite you to spend time with us at the Hunterian Museum
Information Studies at the University of Glasgow is delighted to invite you to our annual networking event for all Information Studies postgraduate students, senior honours students, staff, and professional partners.
This includes our taught postgraduate programmes, Information Management & Preservation, Museum Studies: Artefacts & Material Culture, Museum Studies: Collecting & Collections, and Museum Studies: Theory & Practice.
Our event will run from 5-7pm on Wednesday 6th February 2019 at the Hunterian Museum.
We are looking forward to hosting an evening of informal discussion, making friends, and exchanging ideas.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Why attend?
We'll begin the evening with an introduction from our Head of Subject, Prof. Lorna Hughes.
You'll have an opportunity to meet our students and talk to them about the work of your institution. All of our programmes have placement components as part of the student experience. We see this event as an opportunity for you current partners to facilitate relationships with students who may be looking for additional volunteer and internship experiences as part of their studies as well as post-studies employment.
Professional bodies, including CILIP, ARA and IRMS will be present at the event to provide information about professional membership and to share information about their regional and national events programmes.
Representatives from several museums, libraries, archives, and galleries organisations will be attending.
We look forward to seeing you on the 6th!
