Event description

Description

Workshop Overview:

As part of our continued support for the sector we are running a series of national quality improvement events aimed at all vocational sectors delivering new apprenticeship standards and EPA with City & Guilds.

This informative half-day workshop will provide you with the key information you need to ensure you can implement a best practice approach to delivering initial assessment and prior learning, from an auditors standpoint. The workshop will be a helpful mix of best practice information sharing, hints and tips for a successful audit and practical discussions to resolve any individual issues identified. The workshop aims to provide you with all the tools you needs to ensure a successful and pain free funding audit with no claw back of funds for non compliance with prior learning and IA expectations.

The event is aimed at: Heads of Training, Apprenticeship Training Heads or Managers, Curriculum Managers and Heads, Apprenticeship/WBL Managers, MIS Managers, Quality Managers and others who may have a role in the management or delivery of apprenticeship programmes.

This workshop delivered over one day will cover the key themes of:

  • Reviewing your current centre practice in respect of Initial Assessment and identification of prior learning in apprenticeships of all levels
  • Understanding the importance of Initial Assessment (IA) and assessing prior learning.
  • Understanding your MIS data and how it can support your audit preparations
  • Understanding what an Auditor will expect to see and what evidence is expected and where it should be kept.
  • Exploring the approach to agreeing changes to the apprentices programme with the employer and how the apprentice should contribute to the process
  • Understanding expectations for reductions in price, content and duration of apprenticeships due to IA and prior learning
