About this Event

VINYASA FLOW - April 1st, April 15th and April 29th

In Vicky's vinyasa flow classes, she will guide you through a sequence of poses letting you move your body both consciously and instinctively. We will use our breath to focus our attention whether it be in stillness or movement. This class will allow you to move mindfully. Find your flow, feel freedom in movement and let your mind drop into your body and just be.

YIN YOGA - April 8th and April 22nd

In Vicky's Yin Yoga and Meditation class we use passive stretches to find release in the connective tissues of the body. We will be in these shapes for longer periods to allow the body time to soften and ground. This is class is a mindful practice allowing you to connect with your body and find space.

Classes are open level, beginners are welcome.

All donations given for these classes will go to Inkwell Arts, Leeds Mind.

For the classes you do not need any props but I would recommend using a yoga mat if you have one. If you have any yoga blocks, bolster or a yoga strap then please have them handy (especially for the Yin classes). If you don't then you can use a couple of cushions or thick books, blanket and belt, be creative, However if you don't have any of these you will still be able to participate fully in the class, they are just optional.

About Vicky:

I trained at Yoga Hero with my 200 hour vinyasa flow teacher training last year and I am currently working towards my yin yoga and mindfulness meditation qualification.

I have worked in science for nearly fifteen years and also coached rock climbing for the last seven years. I initially came to yoga through climbing, which made yoga accessible for me. What unfolded since my first class has been an absolutely transformational journey. I started to notice the benefits of yoga in my life straight away and have personal experience of the benefits of yoga for my own mental health. I have learnt so much through my own experiences and believe that once you learn something you should share it with others, which is why I chose to teach yoga.

I love to be outdoors and take every opportunity I can to connect with nature. I draw a lot of my inspiration from the outdoors and find it to be my creative space. I love the freedom I find in movement of yoga, and think of it as a moving meditation. I also love the stillness I find from other aspects of my yoga practice such as meditation. I currently teach online vinyasa flow and yoga for climber’s classes.

I love to share my passion of yoga with others and hope to see you on the mat soon.

For those wishing to participate in live streamed yoga classes it is essential that you adhere to the following points:

• I understand before commencing any activity program I should consult my doctor

• I recognise that it is my responsibility to inform the teacher of any injury or illness at the start of every class

• Modifications will be given but everything in this class is optional, our bodies are different from day to day, it is important to listen to them

• If at any time during the class you feel you need to rest please feel free to do so

• While participating in the class if you feel any discomfort or pain at any time, please slowly come out of the pose

• I am aware that yoga is not a replacement for examination, diagnosis or treatment from a medical professional
