Inky Cuttlefish Studios set up in 2007. We have worked in partnership and with a variety of high profile artists, charities, organisations and groups in our local community, London, Berlin and South Africa. Clients have included Museum of London (both sites), Pirate Castle (Camden), William Morris Gallery, Learning Disability Experience (formerly WF Mencap), colleges, schools, community groups. In 2015, they moved into Gnome House, a new community and creative space in Walthamstow, East London. It comprises a printmaking workshop, a cafe (opening soon), a meeting room and a large community creative space available for hire. This space is being run by the Gnome House Community Interest Company (CIC) with volunteer directors from the local neighbourhood. Anna Alcock is Director of Inky Cuttlefish Studios and one of the voluntary Directors of Gnome House CIC.

The primary goals of the studio are to:

  1. creative, friendly atmosphere
  2. selling original artwork created by local artists
  3. giving art lovers an opportunity to find out where and how original unique artwork is created. We have regular exhibitions and open days with demonstrations for our local community.
  4. have a working printmaking studio that is available for hire to the community from Monday-Friday 10-3pm
  5. running a variety of art workshops for the community – this includes a focus on disabled engagement through different artforms.
  6. providing different membership options for creatives to use the studio.
  7. having morning drop in art clinics three days a week for pre-booked groups and individuals.
  8. organising art events for artists and the local community
  9. provide exhibition opportunities for studio artists and invited artists
  10. provide Artist in Residence opportunities for artists eager to learn more about how to run and manage a studio, and give them opportunities and time in the studio to learn more about printmaking
