Description

The Rugby Business Network, RBN, Scotland, are proud to bring our events to Aberdeen and we look forward to a long and happy association with the North East of Scotland.

For our first event in Aberdeen we are being generously hosted by Stronachs, who provide a full range of legal and property services, and are delighted to have Phil Godman, ex Scotland, Edinburgh and Newcastle, as our guest speaker. It is sure to be an informative and enjoyable evening.

Phil was an integral member of the Scotland team between 2005 and 2013 amassing 23 caps and scoring 71 points. Playing at stand off he started his career at Merchiston Castle school, Edinburgh, for whom he played in 3 successive Scottish Schools Cup Finals, captaining them to back-to-back victories in 1999 and 2000. He represented Scotland at schoolboy, Under 18, Under 19 and Under 21 levels before winning his first senior cap in June 2005 against Romania. Phil won man of the match for his performance in Scotland’s first victory over Australia for 27 years in 2009.

Phil signed for Newcastle Falcons in 2002 before moving to Edinburgh in 2004 where he stayed until 2012. In 2010 Phil suffered a potentially career ending injury to his anterior cruciate ligament that took over a season to recover from. For the 2012-13 season he moved to London Scottish and then rejoined Newcastle Falcons in April 2013. Phil left Newcastle before the 2015/16 season and is now Head of Elite Sport at The High School of Dundee where he has established the Elite Sport Development Programme which mentors and develops athletes from any sport using Elite Coaching, Sports Psychology and tailored Strength & Conditioning alongside Guest Coaches.
