About this event

A university’s digital estate often gives the first and lasting impression of a physical campus, therefore, it is important that we create cultural processes to support continuous improvements of these estates, not viewing a digital output as a standalone project, but as an evolving living product. Digital estates within Higher Education White Paper.

In May 2020 the University of Cambridge and the University of Manchester became the first UK higher education institutions to announce a full transition to online learning as a response to the Covid-19 outbreak.

However, Cambridge and Manchester were not followed by many others, despite the University and College Union’s (UCU) recommendation to offer online-only teaching until Christmas to prevent a surge of coronavirus cases, many opting to continue campus learning despite the risks.

Our Innovating Education: The Digital Education Virtual Conference aims to provide UK based higher educational institutes with some practical guidance on digital adoption and innovation, using best practice from within the UK and International settings to help navigate and improve in areas including:

• Virtual learning environments

• Emerging Tech: AI, Machine-learning

• Network security: cloud security, cyber security

• Cloud computing

• Staff training and development

• Identity and access management

This interactive virtual session will also open the discussion on how technology is affecting student satisfaction rates and what students will expect from their chosen academic intuitions in 2021 and beyond.
